Telos is a family business from Marburg, founded in 1975 and now managed by the second generation. We specialize in the collection, processing and distribution of tissue. Our focus is on transparency and the utmost respect for the donation and processing of the tissue.
Contact TelosThe company "Telos GmbH" was founded in 1975 under the name "Olaf Tulaszewski Medizintechnik" and is still specialized in the production and distribution of medical devices and pharmaceuticals for the field of orthopaedics and trauma surgery.
The Telos company began with a product that was based on the idea and development of an operating table from 1943 for repositioning after fractures of the long bones for intramedullary stabilization. In addition to other successful products such as the "Stress Device", which is used for the clearly documented diagnosis of injuries to the ligamentous system of the knee and ankle joints, and the "KoSa Hochfest Band" for prosthetic care or augmentation of torn cruciate ligaments, the "Marburger Bonebank" was launched in 1993. The “Marburg Bone Bank System” for the thermal disinfection of allogeneic femoral heads from living donors is an integral part of every major orthopedic hospital in Germany and enables the bone material obtained from primary total hip endoprostheses to be freed from any possible bacterial or viral contamination. This means that the allogeneic bone material can be used without risk for other patients. In order to be able to offer the operator of a local bone bank a complete solution, we also offer femoral head reamer sets and bone mills from third-party manufacturers whose excellent properties have been tested by us.
Since 2007, the focus of the Telos company has been on medicines of human origin, which are obtained exclusively from living donors from hospitals in Europe. Due to the strict criteria when selecting donor tissues, Telos can guarantee quality at the highest level. The medicines produced in tissue banks in Germany and Austria are primarily used in orthopedic and trauma surgery and in spinal surgery. For ethical and safety reasons, Telos generally does not use raw material from post-mortem donors. Supporting doctorates and habilitations, providing third-party funding, and regular training for our customers are prerequisites for trusting cooperations between industry and users. Our presence at medical conferences, our constant responsiveness to questions and the timely solution to customer problems also promote the bond between us and our customers and have created trust in our competence over decades through reliability.
The membership in working groups and support for studies, research and theses is very important to us. Over the years, this has enabled us to be partners in many exciting projects.
